One-on-One Physical Therapy

It happens to the best of us, you twist an ankle shooting hoops with your kids, you wake up with muscle spasms in your back from raking leaves the day before, or your shoulder’s been killing you from working at your kitchen table since the start of COVID. Is Telehealth Physical Therapy (TelePT) for you? If you want one-on-one attention in the comfort of your home….

What’s the best way to manage your injury?

    • Wait it out and hope it goes away?
    • Take some pills you have laying around?
    • Go to an ER, urgent care, or your primary doc?
  • Call an Orthopedist and hope you get an appointment before February 2022?

Physical Therapy First

The simple answer is if you don’t have any serious symptoms such as severe swelling, numbness, inability to move an arm or leg, incontinence, nausea/vomiting, etc caused by this injury then you should see a Physical Therapist (PT) first. PTs are experts in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal (bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc) conditions. Most PTs have Doctorate degrees and are extremely well-educated on red flags for medical emergencies and the treatment of appropriate patients. PT is non-surgical and we don’t prescribe medication. We offer non-invasive approaches to fast, effective, safe relief of pain and return to normal activity.

You’ve decided to follow this advice and contact a PT ASAP. Excellent! The problem with PT for many people is actually going to PT, especially if their PT prescribes 2 or 3 visits per week. You have work, kids…..a life. That’s OK, there’s good news…you can get one-on-one Physical Therapy without ever leaving home. No driving, parking, sitting in a waiting room. You can usually get an initial appointment within 24-hours. Where is this magic PT? It’s TelePT – Telehealth Physical Therapy:

  • Convenient
  • Effective
  • Safe
  • Covered by most insurance

What is TelePT?

TelePT is Physical Therapy through a video connection. You and your PT meet on a private video call for a one-on-one PT session. You discuss your problem and your PT will give you a customized treatment program, usually including range of motion, strengthening, and functional activities. An experienced TelePT is as effective as an in-person PT. We optimize our knowledge, problem solving ability, communication skills and compassion. Many of our patients tell us they like TelePT better than going to a clinic. It’s partly because of the convenience, but it’s mostly because the sessions are completely one-on-one. There are no distractions and you are the only patient your PT is focused on. Your time is entirely about you!

If you’re hurting and need help now, please give us a call at 917.268.4480 or Schedule an Appointment today. If you have additional questions, check out our FAQs.

We look forward to working with you.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
